Goldie Elaine PutnamIn loving memory of Goldie Elaine Putnam of Woodinville who passed peacefully Feb. 4, 2016. Goldie was born on Oct. 9, 1934 in New Baltimore, Michigan.Obituary: PutnamGoldie raised five wonderful children — Karen Murphy, Mark Simmons (now passed), Kevin Simmons, Verlynn Johns and Janice Clifton. She also leaves behind her husband Douglas, who always affectionately referred to her as Elaine, her middle name.Goldie also leaves behind her four children, seven grandchildren and even more great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind close friends who will miss her dearly, such as nurse and caregiver Ginger MacEwan, and Joan Singler and Angela Roberts, both of whom started kindergarten together with Goldie and have remained close friends for over 76 years.Goldie was an entrepreneur. Anything she put her mind to, she accomplished. Goldie started a kindergarten school in Albuquerque, New Mexico where none had previously existed. Additionally, she was a real estate agent, and wrote a column for the Eastside Journal newspaper called Cook’s Corner, with recipes made from scratch. She started an antique shop in Kirkland, made and sold gemstone jewelry and then started her own bridal dress business, first from home and subsequently moving to a shop in Totem Lake, Kirkland. Goldie operated her successful bridal business for over 20 years before retiring.Goldie was masterful in all arts, jewelry making, cooking, sewing, crafting and painting. Goldie loved gardening, especially her lilies. She loved dogs, music, singing, dancing and traveling. She was an extremely talented lady.Those who knew Goldie couldn’t help but be touched by this caring, intelligent, talented and extremely positive, thoughtful woman. Goldie’s life and her positive loving spirit continue to impact peoples’ lives.A celebration of Goldie’s life will be held:Feb. 27, 2016 – 3 p.m.Open Door Baptist Church17014 44th Ave WestLynnwood, WA 98037
