Mary A. DeBoer, 84, a longtime resident of Carnation, passed away at Daniela’s Adult Family Home in Woodinville on May 29, 2016.Obituary: DeBoerBorn July 24, 1931 in Washburn, ND, to Bertha and Charles Patterson, the family moved to Carnation in 1936, where she has lived all her life. She met and married Lawrence DeBoer in 1948, and they were dairy farmers on a farm just south of Carnation for all of their 46 years of marriage, where they raised three children.In addition, she was retired from Bank of America, after working in the Carnation and Duvall Branches for 39 years. Her hobbies include camping, fishing, hunting, and clam digging with family, gardening and canning, leathercraft, knitting and crocheting, sewing, ceramics, reading, making quilts for kids in need and working on the family birthday and anniversary calendar for many years.Mary was preceded in death by husband Lawrence DeBoer, son Michael DeBoer, parents Bertha and Charles Patterson, and sisters Shirley Wilson and Karen Harvold.Survivors include two daughters Patty DeBoer and Sally Sinnema and husband Jerry, from Carnation, six grandkids Matt DeBoer and wife Krissy from Snoqualmie, Dawn Solomon from Renton, BJ DeBoer and wife Amy near Nashville, TN, Tasha Alex and husband Steve from Gold Bar, Shana Amador and husband Daniel from Carnation, Katie Hanley and husband Devon also from Carnation and eight great-grandkids (Parker, Adaline, Caleb & Kylie DeBoer, Allyson Alex, and Grace, Carmen & Sam Amador).In memory of Mary, there will be a reception at the Vincent Community Clubhouse on the corner of NE 80th and West Snoqualmie Valley Road at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2016.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests remembrances in Mary DeBoer’s name may be made to Sno-Valley Senior Center at PO Box 96, Carnation WA 98014 or snovalleysenior.org.
