Dallas BackmanDallas Backman our beloved son, brother and grandson passed away Friday morning, June 24, 2016.Obituary: BackmanHis love and respect and honor towards his family was unrelenting. He is survived by his adoring mom, Jyl Backman, his proud dad, Eric Backman, his confidante and oldest brother Dylan Backman and his loving and youngest brother Dakota Backman and of course by his cherished “Papa” Victor Ferguson.Dallas was born September 22, 1994. He grew up in Woodinville, WA. He attended Evergreen Academy, Cedar Park Christian School, Chrysalis and Northwest Liberty School. Dallas was a smart student and accomplished athlete. He successfully competed nationally in gymnastics competitions for many years.Dallas was a humble, loving and kind young man who had a gentle soul. He was passionate about the outdoors and he was grateful to have lived the past several months in Utah. He was an avid skier and felt so privileged to do what he adored every day working at Solitude Mountain Resort in Utah. He would say, “Wow how did I get so lucky to work at this beautiful place” and shared his favorite photos constantly.His appreciation of nature’s amazing beauty was never lost on Dallas. He took in the beauty of what he saw with “eyes wide open.” Dallas also took a personal journey camping with his brother over the past few months traveling Western United States taking in the glory of God’s Creations. He loved camping, hiking and being a “free Spirit” and looked forward to each new journey with passion and amazement.Here is something we all know about the beautiful, blue eyed, blonde haired young man named Dallas Backman would say to us from his selfless and loving soul:“Thank you for always being there for me. I am never far from you: always very near. It isn’t fair we have to live so far away. But Don’t worry; I hear everything that you say. Your sadness means I was loved. And I love you all. Thank you for a fantastic life. I will see you all again.”Dallas touched the lives of many people and has made a lasting footprint in each and every heart that is broken.There will be a Celebration of Dallas’s life with his friends and family on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 6PM at Russell’s Restaurant (3305 Monte Villa Parkway, Bothell).
