Tim Stipek

On June 8, 2010, after a long battle with cancer, Tim Stipek passed away in his home in Renton, Wash., with family and friends present.

Tim Stipek was born on July 17, 1960, in Seattle Wash., to Carol and Shirley Stipek, the youngest of seven children.

He grew up on the family farm in Bothell, Wash., attended Saint Brendan’s Catholic School and graduated from Bothell High School in 1979. During school he was an avid basketball player and on the yearbook staff. After high school graduation, he married his high school sweetheart, Joni Zimmerman, and started a family.

He joined the U.S. Postal Service in the early 80s, moving up the ranks and finally retiring in early 2010 as the postmaster of Black Diamond. He was remarried to his current wife, Pat Stipek, in 2004.

He was a family man and proud grandparent of three grandchildren.

Tim is survived by parents, Carol and Shirley Stipek; his wife, Pat Stipek; and his six children, Marriah Thornock and spouse Simon, Sarah Stipek, Jessica Grinolds and spouse Aaron, Jamar Stipek, Bradley Stipek and Titus Stipek.

He is also survived by his siblings, David (Toy), Mike (Cheryl), Tracy (Betty), Carole Tucker, Mark (Marcia), Betsy Black (Bob) and 15 nieces and nephews.

Tim Stipek’s service was held June 19 in Renton at the Cascade Kingdom Hall.
