She was baptized in the Presbyterian Church but attended a Methodist Church — later being confirmed in a Lutheran Church. On graduating in 1929 from Woodworth High School in North Dakota, she attended preparatory classes for teaching and then taught grades 1-8 in a country one-room school in the Wadsworth School District of North Dakota.

She married Albert Gerald Anderson on Nov. 28, 1930, keeping the same last name.

They left Woodworth, N.D., in 1935 with three children to begin a new life in Washington state, where their fourth child was born. She was a long-time resident of Woodinville, later moving to Monroe, Wash.

Besides being a homemaker, Lovida worked at Sandpoint, Wash., sewing wings on airplanes during World War II; later she became a substitute mail carrier in both Woodinville and Monroe.

After the family was grown, she attended Everett Business College and worked as a secretary for Washington State Vocational Rehabilitation until she retired.

Lovida enjoyed playing the piano, and from her early teen years, she would play for dances; also, she would play in church when the regular pianist was absent.

She played at youth performances and for her family and friends at gatherings.

She also spent many hours with her group of Woodinville friends sewing for Children’s Hospital and making sleeping bags for the homeless.

She was a member of the Woodinville Heritage Society. She loved fishing and spent much time boating in Eastern Washington, fishing with her husband and grandsons.

Following the death of her husband, she moved from Monroe back to Woodinville and lived near her oldest daughter, Loraine Thayer.

Later, she lived with her youngest daughter, Shirley, and son-in-law, Darrell (Buzz) Smith, and moved with them to Grangeville, Idaho, in August 2007.
