Fred C. Hopper

by Woodinville Weekly Staff

Fred C. HopperFred was a seaman first class in the Coast Guard, then a motorcycle officer with the Los Angeles Police Department for over 20 years. He retired and enjoyed a more relaxed career as a fire extinguisher salesperson until retirement in 1986.

He was the only child born to the late Fred and Josephine Hopper and was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Hopper for over 65 years.

Fred will forever be remembered by his devoted son, Michael Hopper, his loving daughter-in-law Karin Hopper, his beloved grandchildren, Tyler and Alyssa Hopper, caring sister-in-law, Lois Mollner and cousins, along with countless friends and family who were blessed to know him.

Fred loved laughing, telling his "Fredisms," being with family, having fun with friends, fishing and golfing.

Fred maintained his trademark sense of humor and story-telling to the end (much to the delight of his caregivers).

The family is planning a "celebration of life" (as Fred always enjoyed a great party) in late August.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests all donations be sent to the wonderful organization that has helped not only his grandchildren, but also many children throughout the Northwest: Seattle Children’s Hospital Foundation, PO Box 5371 / S-200, Seattle, WA 98145-5005 or visit www.seattlechildrens.com/ways-to-help/donate/.
