Michael Sean Govier Sr.
Michael Govier was a resident of Duvall.
After a year-and-a-half-long battle with end stage liver disease, "Big Mike" passed away surrounded by his loving family at The University of Washington Medical Center.
"Big Mike" was born and raised in San Diego, Calif., at Balboa Naval Station and graduated from James Madison High School in 1975.
He was an expert finish carpenter with more than 30 years experience. Mike moved to Washington in the early 90s and quickly became part of the community.

He was the devoted best friend and husband to Colleen E. Govier for over 20 years,
Mike will forever be remembered affectionately by his loyal siblings, Thomas, Robert, Debbie, James and Kelly; beloved children, Rik Durham, Lt. Adrian (USN) and Kristina Durham, Jessica Durham-Emerich, Michael Govier Jr. and adoring grandchildren Hannah Marie (deceased), Jaden and Jaclyn Durham, Mason Emerich and Kaitlin Durham; caring in-laws John and Pat Nunn, Todd and Peggy Coe, Mary McAlpine (Bud), Liaza Nunn along with a legion of nieces, nephews and countless other friends and family who were blessed to know him.
"Big Mike" attended many Cedarcrest High School football games and volunteered at many school functions over the years.
He umpired for SVNLL for eight years and was honored at the "World’s Greatest Umpire."
Mike loved listening to classic rock music, riding his Harley Davidson, being with his family and collecting a multitude of treasures.
"Big Mike" touched the lives of many with his generosity and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.
Friends and family gathered to celebrate his life on September 16 at the City Church in Kirkland with a reception held at the Duvall Highlands community center. "Big Mike" will be missed dearly, but never forgotten.
