Gary J. Hasse

Gary J. HasseGary was born in Owosso, Michigan on July 7, 1942. He served in Vietnam and married JoAnn, his wife of 40 years on Feb. 28, 1970 in LaMirada, Calif. They welcomed their daughter Becky in March of 1973, and their second daughter Amber in February 1976.

The family moved to Woodinville in the summer of 1978 where Gary spent his fun time coaching youth softball, refereeing youth soccer and most recently coaching the USBC youth bowlers. Gary was involved in various bowling leagues and held the position of secretary/treasurer of Eastside Boosters for the past 25 years at TechCity. Gary loved to golf and play softball.

He was a member of the Meadowdale Senior Softball League. He retired from General Dynamics in Redmond 7 years ago and recently worked for the 2010 Census.

Gary is survived by his wife, JoAnn; daughter Becky Freidig, son-in-law Scott Freidig and grandchildren Tanner, Joey and Dalton; daughter Amber Nieuwenhuis, son-in-law Jeremy Nieuwenhuis, grandchildren Samantha and Sydney; sisters Karen Gooding and Cheryl Coffey, brother Ed Hasse; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Services will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 1 p.m. at Evergreen - Washelli Funeral Home in Bothell with a reception immediately following at CrossPointe Church, 19527 104th Ave NE, Bothell, WA 98011.
