Marty Holmes
Marty HolmesHe was born a twin on May 2, 1945, in Sitka, Alaska, to Clinton and Alice (Brown) Holmes.
Marty married Christy Gates of Bozeman, Mont., in 1968, divorcing in 1987. They had two children: Todd in 1974 and Dusty in 1976.
Marty started Billikin Transfer in Petersburg, Alaska and later Olympic Tree Farm in Seattle.
His favorite hobby was flying.
He is survived by his son, Todd of Mill Creek, Wash.; his daughter Dusty, of Henderson, Nev.; grandsons, Justice and Zack of Mill Creek; sisters, Mauna Lehmann (his twin), Anita (Richard) Anderson, and Linda (Mike) LaFrance all of Port Orchard, Wash. and a brother, Ken (Debbie) Holmes of Bremerton, Wash.; his companion, Barbara Wells of White City, Ore.; 11 nieces and nephews, 14 great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceeded in death by his father in 1976, his mother in 2005 and his brother Jay Holmes of Anchorage, Alaska, also in 2005. There will be an open house to celebrate Marty’s life on Saturday, December 11, from 2-5 at Faith Community Bible Church in Bremerton, Wash. You can post your memories at Martys-life@hotmail.com.
