Chase B. Morris
Chase B. Morris died Sunday, December 12, 2010. He was born October 13, 1919, in Redmond.
He lived his whole life in the Snoqualmie Valley. Chase had been an active member of the Tolt Volunteer Fire Department and served as commissioner for King County Fire District 35. He also volunteered for Hopelink "Lunch Bunch."
His occupations included farmer, logger, heavy equipment operator, owner/operator of a sawmill on his property known as Car-Mor, garbage collector for the city of Carnation, and all-around knowledgeable fellow.
Chase was one of six generations who lived on the land that was homesteaded by his grandparents, Vilinda and Shamgar Morris.
He was a grandson of Redmond pioneers William and Matilda Perrigo and their last surviving grandchild.
He is survived by his wife BJ of 43 years; daughters, Judy (Norm) Cook, Jackie (Jim) Norris, Kathy (John) Wilkerson; son, Ted (Cindy) Morris; stepchildren, Gene (Jan) Oliver, Mo (Melody) Oliver, Stephanie (Bud) Roth, Luke (Colleen) Dunham, Nathan (Susan) Dunham, David (Carrie) Dunham and Jeff Dunham. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Chase will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his loud booming voice, his creative ingenuity, his love for motorcycles and his ability to connect with children and animals.
A graveside service was held December 18 at Novelty Hill Cemetery and the memorial service at Tolt Congregational Church.
