Nicholas R. ColemanNick was born July 22, 1981, in Kirkland, the son of Mike and Phyllis Coleman and brother of Kristina Coleman. He was raised in Woodinville and graduated from Woodinville High School. He served with the United States Marine Corps from July 2003 to June 2006 as a rifleman. During his tour of service, Nick received many honors, including a Rifle Expert Badge (three times), Combat Action Ribbon for service in Iraq, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal and a Purple Heart.

Nick moved to Wenatchee and enrolled at Wenatchee Valley College.

He was proud to be a Marine, to serve our country and to help his fellow veterans. After surviving the war, Nick found peace in working with rescue horses and they found comfort in him. Before, during and after the Marine Corps, Nick had a passion for music, adventure, his friends and also his family. Nick was such a loving, kind, respectful and intelligent man. With one twinkle of his eye he warmed our hearts.

Survivors include his parents, Mike and Phyllis Coleman of Manson, Wash.; sister, Kristina Coleman of Kirkland; grandmother, Dolores Zimmerman of Bellingham and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A memorial service was held December 17 at Eastridge Christian Assembly in Issaquah. Private committal was held at Tahoma National Cemetery.
