Kathy Seals Hackney

Kathy was born in Chicago and her family moved to the Woodinville area in the late 50s. In 1960, the Seals family opened a small and flourishing landscaping company, Alpine Rockeries. She graduated from Bothell High School in 1974 and married Fred Hackney that July.

The Seals-Hackney family helped Alpine Rockeries grow to a bustling, successful family business.

Inspired by her father and being involved in the construction industry, Kathy opened her own rockery company, Interlocking Rockeries, in 1983. She was one of the first women in the area to start her own rockery company.

Along with running her own company, she raised two daughters with much love and pride. She was a woman who would lend a hand when needed, was always willing to lend a sympathetic ear, and offered support when it was needed most. Every year, friends and family would look forward to her holiday parties. From family game nights to playing with her boxer, Ruby, she will be missed by many.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Lung Association.
