Janet Lewis
Janet LewisShe was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., on July 1, 1914, graduated from college, joined the Navy in 1944 doing photography work. She taught briefly in Eugene, Ore., before moving to Whittier and then La Habra, Calif., where she raised her family and taught kindergarten and second grade for 33 years. After retirement she moved to the Northwest and lived in Woodinville for 34 years.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, George and Blanche Yarnold; siblings, Edward Yarnold and Richard Yarnold and husband Jack R. Lewis.
She leaves her sister ,Marion Webster of Lee Center, NY.; her daughter, Charlotte Twight (Richard) of Boise, Idaho; and daughter, Carol White (Bill) of Woodinville; grandchildren, Wendy Romine (Troy), Michelle Cox (West) of Woodinville, Jeff White (Tristin McLaren) of Redmond and six beautiful great grandchildren whom she adored Kaden (7), Reese (7) and Jaxton (2) Romine, Brady Cox (4), Nicole (5) and Even (3) White.
Janet loved to travel, enjoying seeing the world locally and abroad.
She had taken several cruises with friends and many family vacations.
She was an avid reader. She was an excellent artist and gardener.
She also enjoyed attending Rose Hill Presbyterian Church and had met many good friends there.
Her cause of death was congestive heart failure.
Janet was cremated and will be laid to rest alongside her parents and husband at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Whittier, Calif. Remembrances can be sent to Evergreen Healthcare Hospice in Kirkland, WA.
