Thomas A. BergstromHe is survived by his wife of 48 years Marjorie (Margie) Bergstrom of Duvall; daughter, Tami Lyon; son-in-law Dave; and grandsons, Macaulay and Carson of Woodinville, Wash, and Jeannie Gibson; son-in-law, Scott (Gib); and granddaughters, Hanna and Molly of Duvall.
Tom is also survived by his sister, Janice Foskett of San Jose, Calif., and brother, Richard Bergstrom of Ben Lomand, Calif., as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In 1946, Tom’s family moved from Iowa to California. Tom graduated from Campbell High School, Campbell, Calif., in 1958.
On June 3, 1961, Tom married his high school sweetheart and elementary school friend, Marjorie I. Carson.
In 1963 Tom was hired as a firefighter for the City of San Jose, Calif., where he served his community for 32 years, retiring in 1995.
In 1997, after traveling the United States for almost two years, Tom and Margie relocated to Duvall to be near their daughters and to be actively involved in his grandchildren’s every activity and interest.
In Duvall, Tom and his wife built their dream home with their own hands. Tom lived an active life full of friends and family. He enjoyed camping, waterskiing, golf, bike riding and snow skiing. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Firefighters Local 230 and the Professional Ski Instructors of America, working as a ski instructor for Lyon Ski School at Stevens Pass, Wash. Tom was an expert woodworker, carpenter and mechanic.
In lieu of flowers, Margie asks that you take your loved ones to dinner in Tom’s honor.
