Charles A. Sandusky

Charles A. SanduskyHe was born April 2, 1918, in Spearfish, S.D. to Charles Sandusky and Anna Otterbein Sandusky.

He moved to Washington as a boy and attended the University of Washington where he received a degree in civil engineering.

Sandy served his country in the Army during World War II and was stationed in the South Pacific.

Throughout his life, he enjoyed reading, working on his rose garden, walking, spending time at the cabin that he and his wife built, golfing, playing bridge and being around family.

He married the love of his life, Marjorie Moree Sandusky, November 8, 1940. They were married for 65 years until her death in 2005.

Sandy had a 30-year career as a structural engineer with Skilling Helle Christiansen Robertson (SHCR) in Seattle.

His expertise was aircraft hanger doors.

He lived on Bainbridge Island for 40 years and in Bothell since 2005.

Surviving are his son, Bill Sandusky; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Sandusky; and grandchildren, Simon and Jacob Sandusky of Bothell.

He is also survived by three nieces and four nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Samuel Sandusky, and sisters, Martha Bernadeen Sayce and Kathryn Ellen Dickison.

Services will be held at Evergreen Washelli in Bothell, 18224 103rd Ave. NE, Bothell, on January 16 at 2 p.m. Memorials may be made to the hospice of your choice.
