Sue Sinnett

Sue Sinnett passed away peacefully on September 28, 2013 at the age of 92.Sue was the wife of Bill Sinnett Sr. (deceased).She grew up in Woodinville, living on Wellington Hills Golf Course, which her parents owned.Sue was three times past champion of the Washington State Publinks Championship (1938, 1951 and 1952) and was among the first LPGA Women Professional Golfers in the state of Washington.Sue graduated from Bothell High School and attended the University of Washington. She was an avid Husky fan.In the winter of 1938, Sue married Bill and they moved to Seward, Alaska. Sue routinely left her interest in golf to raise a family, but would return to golf and again compete at a championship level.In 1952, Sue was invited to play in the prestigious Weathervane Women’s Professional Tournament at Broadmoor Country Club.She was befriended by the LPGA players she met there and was invited to join the LPGA Tour.Sue chose to continue raising her family of four children.In the 1960s Sue joined Bill Sr. in the food brokerage business, retiring in the 1980s.Upon retirement they moved to Yakima/ Wenatchee and she resumed her golfing career.Sue is survived by her children: Bill (Linda), Judy (Bert), Joan (Doug), Pat (Nancy). Sue also had 12 grandchildren and many great and great, great grandchildren.
