Bill White
Bill WhiteBill was a teacher and coach for 36 years — the majority of the time at Ingraham High School.He also taught at Ballard High School and West Seattle High School.Bill was PE department head and was skilled in coaching football, track, soccer and basketball. In addition, he taught art, health education and drivers’education.Bill was born in Jeanette, Pennsylvania, and attended elementary and high school in Morgantown, West Virginia. A beautiful painting he did, still hangs in the entry to the Morgantown High School auditorium.In 1962 Bill moved with a friend to southern California where he attended Fullerton College, worked at Disneyland and in 1964 met his wife Carol.They were married for 47-1/2 years. Bill had many funny stories from his eight years at Disneyland, including meeting Walt Disney in the early 60s.Upon receiving his bachelors degree and teachers certificate from Los Angeles State, he accepted a job offer from Seattle School District.He had always wanted to live in the Northwest for the outdoors and fishing which was his passion.With two cars and a very upset cat we moved to Bellevue, then Redmond and finally settled in Woodinville for 37 years.Bill was preceded in death by his father and mother, Manual and Sarah White; brother, Manual White Jr.; brother, Joe White; brother, Leonard White and sister, Emma all of Cleveland, Ohio.He is survived by brothers, Danny White, Nathaniel White (Betty); his wife, Carol White; and daughters, Wendy Romine, Michelle Cox of Woodinville and son, Jeff White of Redmond and six grandchildren.Bill made friends easily, was funny and very dedicated to his teaching.Life changed for his entire family after his alzheimers diagnosis.Bill resided at Clare Bridge alzheimers/dementia care facility for over a year.It was after a fall that they diagnosed him with multiple myeloma.Bill will be missed every day.His remains will be buried at Woodinville Cemetery.
