Clifford RunningA longtime member of the Woodinville community, Clifford and his family moved to Woodinville in 1976 where he settled on Hollywood Hill and started his construction company, Castlewood Homes, from his den before moving his offices to downtown Woodinville, building over 4,500 homes until his retirement and moving to Birch Bay in the early 2000s.He was a graduate of Highline High School, class of 1960. He received a BA from the University of Washington and an MBA, magna cum laude, from the University of Utah. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, stationed at RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk, England from 1966-1970 during the Vietnam War, as well as a longstanding member of the Washington State Realtors Association and Seattle Master Builders Association.He was a kind, generous man who opened his heart and home to those in need. He loved to travel with his family and friends to locales across the United States and Canada as well as around the world, but his heart always brought him back home to Woodinville where he raised his two sons, both of whom graduated from Woodinville High School.Clifford loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed golfing, skiing, boating and traveling.He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Marybelle (Calvert) Running. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Darla (Jameson) Running; his sons Darren and Jason (Suzanne) and two grandchildren; along with his brothers Roger (Sharron) Running of Bonney Lake, Brad (Kathy) Running of Seattle, sister Barbara (Darrel) Prozak of Chewelah and numerous nephews and nieces.A memorial service was held Saturday, July 26 at Life Celebrations by Washelli in Bothell.
