Alberta "Babe" (Lobberegt) Golden

Alberta "Babe" (Lobberegt) GoldenSurviving her are her sons, Bryan Golden (Carmel Valley, Calif.), Carey Golden (Woodinville), Dan Golden (Renton); three grandsons, Bryan, Shawn and Shannon Golden and two great-granddaughters, Madison and McKinley Golden.

Alberta graduated from Seattle’s Roosevelt High School in 1941 and worked as a technical illustrator for Pan American Airways at Boeing Field during World War II.

In 1947, Alberta married Bryan Arthur Golden of Seattle and subsequently had her three sons.

Alberta worked for Frederick & Nelson at the Aurora Village store 1966-1991.

For the last 45 years of her life, Alberta lived in Lake Forest Park. She was a long-time board member of the Lake Forest Park Civic Club and was honored for her service in 2002.

Alberta loved history and traveling. She also loved gardening, hiking and bird-watching. She was always willing to try new things and was even on an ice curling team for a while in the 1970s.

Alberta was a caring person with little regard for material possessions. She put her sons and her extended family first always. She was artistic, creative, fiercely-independent and she said what she thought. She was a constant in a changing world and was always ready to help with kind words, moral support, shelter or whatever was necessary.

Alberta passed at age 86 in her home surrounded by family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
