Theodore (Ted) James Walgamott
Theodore (Ted) James WalgamottBorn in Culver City, California. Raised in Woodinville. Graduated Bothell High School, 1964. Attended the University of Washington until drafted into the army serving in Vietnam. Upon returning to the Seattle area he started a family raising his daughter Wendy and son Erik and was blessed with two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Anthony. After losing his first wife to cancer he met the love of his life and soul-mate Gail Vanden Akker. They spent the next 23 years building their life together, traveling, constructing their dream home (A Thing of Beauty) in Sequim and making friends everywhere they went. Ted started his working career as one of the original artisans at the Pike Place Market specializing in leather goods. He then went on to become a master of any trade that he delved into. His creativity and the love of woodworking allowed him to turn simple pieces of wood into what would become his signature radius masterpieces. His analytical mind allowed him to tackle any problem that came his way. He never dwelt on the problem, only the solution. He was kindhearted, patient and always willing to share his vast knowledge with anyone who was willing to listen. He was a gentle “magic man” who loved music, dancing, warm beaches, astronomy, reading and a relentless quest for learning. Being with friends and family was always special to him. He is survived by his wife; two brothers, Tom and Terry; a daughter; son; two grandchildren; and hundreds of friends. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. The universe hit the jackpot the day he left this Earth. The family wishes to thank Volunteer Hospice, Home Health and Joan from Caregivers of Sequim. He wished to have his body donated to medical research.
